Gaza – The Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development (PWWSD) held 4 support sessions for women as part of its Psychological Counselling and Consultation Program. About 62 women attended the events. The sessions were held in 4 governorates, focusing on marginalized border areas.
The sessions addressed many different topics, including speech and language problems in children, violence against women, and psychological debriefing. Additionally, psychological support sessions were held at a number of institutions, and attended by about 32 participants. These sessions talked about emotions, “what I enjoy doing and what I’m good at”, and safe spaces.
Furthermore, the organization held a developmental group with 15 participants, which dealt with various topics, in addition to drawing and music exercises, and cooperative entertainment and game activities that foster a fun environment for the participants.
Specialists noted that 42 sessions were held for individual cases, which ranged from marital problems to individual difficulties and behavioral problems. Amal Abu-Eisheh thanked the specialists for their active role and continuous work all over the Gaza Strip.
It is worth noting that these support and developmental groups have helped relieve some of the pressures on the people in the Gaza Strip, in addition to the great interaction and relation between the specialists and the participants in these groups and awareness sessions.
